The Bureau of Public Works of the New York State Department of Labor promulgates annual prevailing wage rates effective on July 1 of each year that remain in effect until June 30 of the following year. These rates will apply to all new public works projects left on or after July 1 each year.

Districts that have existing projects that are not completed prior to July 1st each year will need to obtain a new set of prevailing wage rates from the Labor Department which apply to the existing project.
