Purpose of 2026 Title I, 1003 SIG (Supplemental Support Program) Funds

Section 1003 of the Elementary and Secondary °µÍøTV Act (ESEA) requires that State °µÍøTV Agencies allocate funds to Local °µÍøTV Agencies (LEAs) for Target Districts and schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) to support the development and implementation of their individual district and school continuous improvement plans.Ìý

The 2026 Title I, 1003 School Improvement Grant (SIG) Supplemental Support Program funds are provided to support the extension of the concepts and coaching provided to participants in NYSED’s Supplemental Support programs in preparation for the start of the 2026-27 school year.Ìý

Eligibility

Target Districts with at least one school identified in the CSI, ATSI, or TSI support model that participated in the Department’s Enhanced Principal Leadership (EPL), Assistant Principal Mentoring (APM), and/or Coaching for Excellence (CFE) program in 2025-26, are eligible to submit an application for 2026 Title I, 1003 SIG Supplemental Support Program funding.Ìý Additional clarification on the funding eligibility and use of funds can be found in the Eligibility section of the application packet.Ìý A full list of schools that meet these criteria can also be found in Attachment A of the announcement packet.

Application Due Date

Completed applications are due byÌýApril 15, 2026Ìýand will be reviewed on a rolling basis.Ìý LEAs are encouraged to submit as soon as possible to expedite the review and approval process of 2026 Title I, 1003 SIG Supplemental Support.Ìý
